About our Online Training:
In our schedule friendly format, participants will be trained through our comprehensive asynchronous/synchronous online learning course. (self-paced, best suited to your schedule). Our hybrid learning model consists of two main parts 1) the online learning course and, 2) the live virtual classroom and post practicum segment. Assignments will be completed to deadlines in order to participate in your Virtual Classroom. Our online course has a 90-day duration which provides ample time to complete.
After completing the online learning course, you’ll move on to the “Live Virtual Classroom” for your Practicum. The practicum portion of the program contains three steps:
Step 1: Scheduling and completing your “Live Virtual Classroom” sessions with a Licensed International Loving Touch Trainer. (see bios for trainers) via a ZOOM platform.
You will be able to book your “Live Virtual Classroom” according to your schedule and with the trainer of your choice, in most cases, before you are finished with the online course. In the synchronous portion “Live Virtual Classroom”, you will interact with your trainer and other students. This provides face-to-face discussions, individual and group guidance, stroke technique demonstration and practice. There is supportive instruction and details on your post practicum assignment with your families.
Step 2: After the ZOOM. The Post Practicum Assignment: You will instruct and educate four families and their infants/or children in The Loving Touch® Method© to complete certification documentation requirements. This Includes 8 SOAP notes from your parent sessions and 4 Parent Evaluations. These sessions can be done virtually or in-person.
Step 3: Finally: Complete all readings and take open-book exam. This will be forwarded back to Loving Touch Main headquarters for review and grading.
In summary, this hybrid online infant massage course, you will be learning The Loving Touch® Method© of infant/pediatric massage in order to instruct parents/and or primary caregivers the method of massaging their newborns and children through a hands-on demonstration approach with the use of your demonstration doll. Foremost, parents/caregivers will be performing the massage. After certification, and in extenuating circumstances where parent’s may be absent, the instructor may provide massage if they have hands-on authority to do so. (MD, RN, PT, OT, LMT licensed professionals for example)
The CIMI® online training is presented through Powerpoint video narrations, quizzes, demonstration videos, digital curriculum materials, extensive detailed references and resources. Materials are downloadable. After completing the online portion you will participate in the “Live Virtual Classroom” practicum platform.
The post Practicum portion follows the online training to conclude certification. Participants who complete the online course, live virtual practicum, post-training practicum with open book exam, and successfully pass, achieve their Certified Infant Massage Instructors (CIMI®) Certificate. Graduates become a part of the International Registry of CIMI’s through International Loving Touch Foundation Inc. You will have access to the MY CIMI® portal where you can access massage stroke sheets and other useful resources and documents for your classes.
